Organic Valley: Acting locally for a healthy planet
All the farmers of Organic Valley, including those right here in Ray's country, are happy to offer EcoUnit credits to thank you for choosing our products with support for local environmental projects. When you choose our products, you are protecting yourself and the local environment from the unsustainable materials and practices used in much conventional food production. And you shorten the distance from the farm to your fridge when you choose our locally produced milk!

Working in harmony with nature, Organic Valley farmers are the proud producers of many delicious and award-winning foods for you and your family. Produced without antibiotics, GMO's, synthetic hormones and pesticides, all of our products are certified organic. We pasture our cows for the added nutritional value to the soil, to the cows, and ultimately to you. We do these things because we know that what's best for the health of the land and the animals is what's best for the health of you, the farmer, and the local community.

"Organic" at Organic Valley is more than a system of agricultural production regulated by the US Department of Agriculture. We define organic as a philosophy and system of production that mirrors the natural laws of living organisms with emphasis on the interdependence of all life. It means living and farming in a manner which strives to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Also central to the concept of organic is the practice of continual improvement - working to improve the way things are done to reduce the size of our ecological footprint, while continuing to provide the healthy, humane, certified organic foods for which our citizen-partners count on us.

Organic Valley's Mission and Vision have lead the way for 20+ years, in partnership with likeminded organizations, in advancing our cooperative along the continuum of sustainability in agricultural production, business operations, workplace culture, and ecological responsibility. There are many challenges on the road to sustainable food production, and we don't pretend to have all the solutions. By working together and measuring our progress we can see the differences that our co-op makes, and this propels us to do better and move further toward our vision of sustainability.
